Directed by Daze for Thrive Collective as part of the Coney Art Walls project in 2016, this mural represents the history and adventure of Coney Island. Built around a character from the demolished Spook-a-rama ride, imagery includes Nathan’s hotdogs, rabbits (for which Coney Island got its name), and within my portion of the piece, the many outfits of Plucky Charms, a burlesque dancer who participated in the annual Mermaid Parade, the festival that officially opens Luna Park each summer.
